All Sessions - Biblical Baptism
Lesson Five addresses the biblical doctrine of baptism and explains what baptism is, what it is not, and why it matters in the life of a believer. Baptism does not save or wash away sin; rather, it is a visible symbol of the inward change that takes place when a person trusts Jesus Christ as Savior.
In this lesson, believers learn that baptism is an act of identification with Jesus Christ—His death, burial, and resurrection—and a public declaration of faith. Baptism is also an act of obedience. Jesus commanded it, modeled it Himself, and the early church practiced it consistently.
Lesson Five emphasizes that baptism follows salvation and is the first step of obedience for every believer. It is a clear way for Christians to testify to their faith and commit to living openly for Christ.
