Tuesday - Mastering Anger

James 1:19–20 – Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

Anger itself isn't sinful, but how we handle it can be. Even Jesus displayed righteous anger against injustice and hypocrisy. The key is learning to process our anger in ways that honor God and others.

Consider a recent situation that angered you. Did you respond in a way that reflected Christ? Or did your anger lead to hurtful words or actions? Remember Paul's advice not to let the sun go down on your anger. Unresolved anger gives the enemy a foothold in our hearts.

Today, if you're harboring anger, take it to God in prayer. Ask Him to help you see the situation from His perspective. As you surrender your anger to God, you'll experience the freedom that comes from forgiveness.
