Friday - Home with the King

John 14:3 – “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also…”

On the night before His crucifixion, Jesus comforted His disciples with a promise: He was going away to prepare a place for them, and He would return to take them to Himself. Our hope is not merely in an event but in a person. The goal of His return is communion – that we may be with Him forever.

This promise anchors our souls. Life between Jesus’ first and second coming is full of joys and sorrows, but none of it is wasted. Christ uses this time to prepare both a place and a people. One day, history’s greatest headline will be written: “Jesus is coming again.” Until then, don’t be deceived, don’t be alarmed, and don’t lose focus. Watch with expectation, live with urgency, and find comfort in His promise. The rest of the Christmas story ends with the King bringing us home.
