Wednesday - Two are better than one

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 – “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him that is alone when he falleth, for he hath not another to help him up.”

Have you ever felt like you're alone in the world and nobody understands you? I know that feeling all too well. But sometimes, unexpected connections can remind us that we're not alone.

Recently, my family and I took a trip to the Black Hills, and we visited a ton of local attractions. We went to Mt. Rushmore, hiked to the stunning Custer Peak, and checked out Bear Country. However, the most memorable moment was at Reptile Gardens, where we unexpectedly ran into our good friends Babette and Rick from church.

While searching for seats for a show, we heard someone call my wife's name. To our surprise, it was Babette and Rick who had traveled nearly 500 miles to vacation in the same area. It was an incredible moment that reminded us of the power of community and how God can bring people together.

Life can be tough at times, especially when we're in unfamiliar territory, and we're longing for someone to understand us. But God has a way of surprising us with unexpected connections, showing us that we're not alone and that there are others who are struggling just like we are. Just like our encounter with our church friends in the Black Hills, there are other believers who are walking the same path, even when we don't expect it.

If you find yourself feeling isolated or going through a challenging season, take heart and remember that you are not alone. Reach out to your church community who will come alongside you in prayer, encouragement, and understanding.
