Thursday - Provoke Not Your Children to Wrath

Colossians 3:21 – “Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.”
"Provoke not your children to anger" is a powerful warning. Before correction comes connection. Before discipline comes environment. Children flourish in homes where grace outweighs criticism, where affirmation balances correction, where love is tangible. A harsh word can crush a spirit; a gentle answer turns away wrath. Parents, examine your home's atmosphere. Do your children feel safe to fail, to ask questions, to be themselves? Or do they walk on eggshells, fearing your reaction? God calls us to create spaces where children are nurtured, not just managed. This requires intentionality—choosing patience over frustration, encouragement over exasperation. Today, speak life over your children. Build them up in love.
