Thursday - Building Up With Your Words

Proverbs 18:21 – Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Colossians 4:6 – Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

Words matter. They carry incredible power. With just a few words, you can lift someone up, or you can tear them down. You can bring life, or you can bring death. As followers of Jesus, our words should reflect His nature of love and grace.

Think back over your conversations the past few days. Were your words more encouraging or more critical? Did you speak life, or did you let gossip and negativity slip in? The truth is, our speech always leaves an impact—it either builds up or it tears down.

So here is today’s challenge. Be intentional with what you say. Look for opportunities to encourage. Offer a genuine compliment. Speak hope to someone who is struggling. Or simply take a moment to express gratitude. When you choose words that build others up, you are becoming a channel of God’s grace and love.
