Wednesday - God’s Presence in Our Praise

Psalm 22:3–5 "But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them. They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded."

Psalm 22 reminds us that God “inhabits the praises of His people.” Think about that for a moment. When we praise God, He makes His home right there in the middle of it. Praise brings His presence close.

This is why worship is so powerful. It’s not just singing songs or saying words. When we lift our voices, when we bow our heads, when we give thanks from the heart, God is right there. He sits down in the middle of our praise.

If you look back, the moments you felt closest to God were probably moments of praise. Maybe it was singing with the church family on a Sunday morning. Maybe it was driving in your car, listening to a song that reminded you of God’s goodness. Maybe it was in prayer, when you stopped asking and just started thanking. Those are the moments when God makes His presence known.

Today, I want to encourage you to take time for intentional praise. Sing if you can. Pray if you want. Or just speak words of love and adoration to God. However you do it, slow down enough to notice His presence. When you praise, He is right there.
