Friday - Pressing Toward Spiritual Maturity

Philippians 3:12-14 – “Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

The ultimate goal for every believer and every church is to grow toward spiritual maturity – to become more like Christ. Today's passage urges us to press on, not being content with where we are, but always striving to know Christ more deeply and reflect Him more clearly.

Spiritual maturity isn't about age or how long you've been a Christian. It's about consistently growing in faith, love, and Christlikeness. It involves moving beyond spiritual milk to solid food, being able to discern good from evil, and teaching others.

Evaluate your spiritual growth honestly. Are you more like Christ today than you were a year ago? What areas of your life still need to be surrendered to Him? Remember, growth is a lifelong process, and God is patient with us as we mature.
