Thursday - Wake Up Call

Ephesians 5:14 – “Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.”

Romans 13:11–14 – “11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.”

Spiritual sleepiness is a real danger for every believer. We can become so comfortable, so accustomed to our routines, that we drift into complacency. Paul's wake-up call is urgent: "Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead." Perhaps you once burned brightly for Christ, but now the flame has dimmed. Maybe you've lost your urgency for the gospel, your passion for prayer, your hunger for God's Word. Today is your wake-up call. Christ is ready to give you light—fresh vision, renewed purpose, restored passion. Don't hit the spiritual snooze button. Arise from complacency. The world desperately needs Christians who are fully awake and shining brightly.
