Wednesday - Unity in Diversity

Nehemiah 3:17 – “After him repaired the Levites, Rehum the son of Bani. Next unto him repaired Hashabiah, the ruler of the half part of Keilah, in his part.”
John 17:21 – “That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.”
"Next unto him... next unto them... after him..." These phrases echo throughout Nehemiah 3, painting a picture of harmonious collaboration. People from different backgrounds, social classes, and skill levels worked side by side without competition or division.
This wasn't uniformity; each individual remained distinct, but they moved with one purpose. On the night before His crucifixion, Jesus prayed earnestly for this kind of unity among His followers. He knew that a divided church would fail to accomplish His mission. Unity doesn't mean we're all identical or always agree; it means we're committed to the same Lord and the same purpose despite our differences.
