Friday - Recognizing God's Hand

Nehemiah 2:8 – “And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me.”

Psalm 127:1–2 – “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.”

After recounting the king’s favor, the provision, the protection, and the resources, Nehemiah refuses to take credit. He simply says, “The king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me.”

He saw past the king’s decision to heaven’s direction.

This is the heart of providence, recognizing that behind every open door, every timely conversation, every unexpected favor, stands the sovereign hand of God.

Some call it luck or coincidence. Nehemiah called it what it was, God’s good hand.

How you interpret your life matters.

When things work out, do you credit circumstances or see God’s fingerprints?

Train your eyes to recognize providence.

That job, that relationship, that move you didn’t understand at the time, look back and see God’s hand.

Then look forward with confidence that the same God is still working.
