Tuesday - The Cost of Sin

Mark 15:24 – “And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take.”

Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Sin always leads somewhere.

It earns a wage.
And that wage is death.

Not just physical death—but separation from God.

That is why the cross was necessary.

God is loving, but He is also holy.
And a holy God cannot ignore sin.

So the penalty had to be paid.

But here is the good news—the payment was not placed on you.

It was placed on Jesus.

He stepped into your place.
He took your punishment.
He paid your debt.

The cross shows us that sin is costly—but it also shows us who paid the cost.

Reflection:
Have you truly trusted Jesus as the One who paid your debt, or are you still trying to carry it yourself?
