Are there difficult passages in the Bible? Yes.
When people encounter difficulties while reading the Bible, it's normal to feel surprised or unsure. But it's important to remember that the Bible is a message from an infinitely wise and holy God, written for us, who are limited and imperfect. So, it's only natural to struggle when we try to understand something infinite.
The Bible even acknowledges that some of its teachings might be hard to comprehend, especially if we lack knowledge.
II Peter 3:16 – “As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood… which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction.”
That's why reading, studying, and thinking about God's Word is essential. As II Timothy 2:15 says, we should aim to show ourselves approved to God by diligently pursuing the truth.
If you're looking for ways to pursue the truth, here are some helpful tips. First, try to read the Bible daily along with our daily devotional and podcast.
