Wednesday - Recognizing the Real Enemy

Ephesians 6:11-13 – Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

We wrestle not against flesh and blood. This truth changes everything about how we view our struggles. That difficult person isn't your enemy, they're just caught in the crossfire. Your spouse, your boss, that challenging relationship – none of these are the real opposition. Satan is the deceiver, the thief who comes to steal, kill, and destroy. He disguises himself as an angel of light, making evil look reasonable and harmless. The battle is personal and invisible, showing up in your thoughts, emotions, and relationships. But recognizing the real enemy helps you fight the right battle. Instead of attacking people, you can pray for them. Instead of harboring bitterness, you can extend grace.
