Friday - Restored to Build

Nehemiah 2:17–18
“Then said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we are in… come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem…
And they said, Let us rise up and build.”
II Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
Before anyone can build for God, they must first belong to God.
The greatest ruin in this world is not broken walls. It is broken people separated from God by sin.
Many people live with spiritual brokenness so long that they begin to think it is normal. But God did not leave us in our ruin.
He sent Jesus Christ.
Nehemiah came to rebuild broken walls.
Jesus came to rebuild broken lives.
Through His death and resurrection, Christ makes sinners new. The Bible says that anyone who is in Christ becomes a new creation.
God does not simply repair our lives. He transforms them.
And from that place of restoration, we are able to join in His work.
First God restores us. Then He calls us to rise and build.
