Friday - Soldier of the Cross

Ephesians 6:10-13 – “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

II Timothy 2:4 – “No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

You are not a victim or a spectator; you are a soldier in God's army. Jesus Christ is your commanding Officer, the Holy Spirit is your guide, and faith, prayer, and God's Word are your weapons. You've been trained by experience, tried by adversity, and tested by fire. This isn't a temporary assignment; you're enlisted for eternity. When you understand this identity, everything changes. You can't be discouraged enough to quit or defeated enough to surrender because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. Even death cannot destroy you—it's simply a promotion to glory. So stand tall today. You serve the King of Kings. You fight from victory, not for it. The battle belongs to the Lord, and you are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you.
