Wednesday - Our Salvation From Sin
Jonah 2:9 — “But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord.”
John 3:16 — “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Jonah declared that salvation was of the Lord. God had sent the fish to preserve his life from the waters and Jonah was in the worst time out in history! He had plenty of time to think about the wrong that he had done.
If we thought about the wrongs that we have done, I know I could fill a book…and that is just from last week! The Bible says that every person has sinned and come short of the standard that God has. We have sinned against a holy God, and there is a punishment for that sin! The beautiful thing about John 3:16 is that our payment has been taken. God sent His Son Jesus to die for the sins of the world, and all who believe upon Him shall be saved!
