Monday - Preserved by God
Jonah 1:17 — “Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.”
Do you ever think back to the times that you were young (or even last week) and you think, “How am I still alive?” I can remember back to many foolish things I did that I was protected from!
Jonah ran from God because he did not want to go to Nineveh. God sent the mighty tempest to punish Jonah and the decision he made. Jonah put himself in a terrible spot when he said, “Throw me overboard.” The ULTIMATE form of defiance, but God was not through with Jonah. He had a plan for him to preach to Nineveh, so he sent a great fish to swallow up Jonah. God preserved him and used a fish to protect Jonah.
Today, no matter our mistakes, God wants to use His children for His purpose. He protects us just as He protected Jonah!
Remember God today. He loves you, and He protects His children to fulfill his purpose.
