Wednesday - Teach Them Diligently

Deuteronomy 6:6–7 –“And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.”

This is one of the most practical verses in the Bible for parents. God is basically saying, “Don’t make this complicated.” Teaching your kids about the Lord isn’t just a Sunday thing. It’s an everyday thing. It’s life-on-life.

At the table. In the car. At bedtime. On the way to school. Faith is meant to be woven into normal conversation. Not forced. Not awkward. Just natural.

Proverbs says training a child sets direction. The psalmist says we tell the next generation about the mighty works of God. Paul said he encouraged believers like a father encourages his children. This is relational, not just instructional.

When kids see us pray, repent, forgive, worship, and trust God in real life—that’s powerful. That’s what sticks.
