Thursday - Finding Your Place on the Wall

Nehemiah 3:10 – “And next unto them repaired Jedaiah the son of Harumaph, even over against his house. And next unto him repaired Hattush the son of Hashabniah.”

Romans 12:6 – “Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;”

Romans 12:7-8 – “Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.”

In Nehemiah's project, everyone had a specific section of wall assigned to them. Some worked near their homes, others in unfamiliar territory. But each person knew their assignment and faithfully completed it.

God has also assigned you a specific place in His kingdom work. The question isn't whether you have a role – you do. The question is whether you've discovered it and are faithfully fulfilling it.

Romans 12 encourages us to think soberly about ourselves, recognizing the grace-gifts God has given. Your place may not be prominent or praised by others, but it's essential to God's plan. Don't wait for someone to invite you or for the perfect opportunity. Look around your church, your neighborhood, your workplace. Where is there a gap? Where do your gifts meet a genuine need? Step into that space today.
