Tuesday - The Eternal Need for a Savior

Matthew 9:35-36 - "And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd."

As our need for a Savior is unequal, it is also eternal! When Christ looked out among the people, he did not only see a crowd, but He saw eternity. Did you know that we are more than just flesh and bone? My body is simply my space suit! The real me is inside. It is spiritual. Our physical bodies grow old and die, but death is not the end! Hebrews tells us the after death is the judgment! We are eternal beings!

Yesterday, we saw the unequal need for a Savior. There is no greater need in the world today than Jesus Christ. Why? Because the need for a Savior is eternal. Accepting Him results in eternal celebration, but to reject Him results in eternal separation.

Today, what do you tend to focus on more — the temporal or the spiritual? Have you truly acknowledged your need for an eternal Savior? If you have, thank Him today. If you have not? There is more to life than just the physical…and the effects are eternal.
