Tuesday - Loving Like Jesus

John 13:34–35 – “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”

Love is the defining mark of a follower of Jesus. Not just any kind of love, but the kind of love He showed us. A love that gives, even when it’s not returned. A love that serves, even when it’s not noticed. A love that keeps showing up when it would be easier to walk away.

When Jesus said, “Love one another as I have loved you,” He raised the standard. He didn’t just tell us to love the people who are easy to love. He showed us how to love the ones who aren’t. Think about it—He washed Judas’s feet, knowing Judas was about to betray Him. He prayed for those who nailed Him to the cross. That’s not convenient love. That’s costly love.
And that’s the kind of love God calls us to. It’s patient when others test us. It’s kind when others are harsh. It doesn’t demand its own way or keep score when someone fails. Real love reflects Jesus.

So let me ask you—who in your life needs that kind of love from you today? Maybe it’s someone who’s been difficult. Maybe it’s someone who’s hurt you. Loving like Jesus doesn’t mean you ignore truth or avoid boundaries, but it does mean choosing grace over resentment.

Ask God to help you love like that. To fill your heart with His kind of love, and to open your eyes to opportunities to show it this week. Because when you love like Jesus, the world gets a glimpse of Him through you.
