Tuesday - Submitting Before Deciding

Ruth 2:2 “And Ruth the Moabitess said unto Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said unto her, Go, my daughter.”

Deuteronomy 24:19 “When thou cuttest down thine harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hands.”

Before Ruth acted, she submitted—to Naomi’s authority and to God’s Word. She learned the customs of Israel by studying the Word of God and sought to do things rightly. Submission may sound restrictive, but it actually frees us to walk wisely! Many of our worst decisions come when we act independently of Scripture or godly counsel. Ruth shows us that when we yield to authority and truth, our decisions gain stability and blessing.

Today, seek to make decisions UNDER authority, not APART from it. Search God’s Word before you decide, and seek counsel from those who walk with Him. Submission isn’t weakness —it’s the doorway to wise decisions!!
