Friday - Light of the World

Matthew 5:14–16 – “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Philippians 2:14–16 – “ Do all things without murmurings and disputings:  That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;  Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.”

You are the light of the world—not might be, not could be, but are. Jesus didn't give you light; He made you light. Now the question is: are you letting it shine? A city on a hill cannot be hidden, and neither should your testimony. Every interaction is an opportunity to leave the light on for someone walking in darkness. Your kindness at work, your patience at home, your integrity in business, your joy in trials—these all illuminate the path to Christ. People are watching how you live, not just what you say. They need to see light that is consistent, authentic, and compelling. Don't settle for a little light when God has called you to shine brightly. Let your light so shine that others see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
