Monday - The Blessed Hope

Titus 2:13 – “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;”

When the tree comes down and the radio stations stop playing carols, it’s easy to think the Christmas story is over. Yet Scripture reminds us that the Nativity points forward. The apostle Paul tells us to live “looking for that blessed hope” –  the glorious appearing of Jesus Christ. Christ’s first coming secured our salvation; His second coming will bring the consummation of God’s kingdom. Old‑Testament prophets foresaw a Messiah who would bring salvation and judgment, and the New Testament shows that those expectations are fulfilled across two advents. We live between the cradle and the crown.

As you put away decorations, set your heart on what still lies ahead. Jesus who was born in Bethlehem is coming again to reign. Let the “blessed hope” shape your priorities, produce holiness (Titus 2:11‑14), and give you joy in the waiting. The rest of the Christmas story isn’t finished yet.
