Monday - The Foundation Comes First

Psalm 127:1 - "Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain."

Raising a family is hard work. There are late nights, loud mornings, and more than a few moments where it feels like you are barely hanging on. But here is the encouragement: God never asked you to figure it all out by yourself.

He doesn't expect perfection. He offers partnership.

Think of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Tourists travel from all over the world to see it, but really, it's just a monument to a failed foundation. It looked fine at first. The flaws showed up over time. The same thing can happen in our homes. We can look great on the outside, packed schedules, well-dressed kids, picture-perfect posts, but if the unseen foundation is weak, the cracks will eventually show.

God doesn't want to be just a part of your home. He wants to be the foundation. The steady base that everything else is built on. When He is at the center, you don't carry the weight alone.

So ask yourself honestly today: What is my home really built on? Career goals? People's opinions? The appearance of having it together? Those things shift with the seasons. But a home built on the Lord is built on something unshakable.
