Wednesday - Centered Around God
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:33
Read through Mary's song in Luke 1:46-55 and count how many times she points to God. The answer is seventeen times in just nine verses. In the middle of the most overwhelming season of her life, her eyes were not on her circumstances. They were on Him.
That is no accident. That is a life that had been intentionally centered around God.
There is a powerful principle here: what you are centered around will determine everything.
If you are centered around what people think, you will spend your life performing. If you are centered around your circumstances, you will spend your life afraid. If you are centered around your own strength, you will spend your life exhausted.
But when God is the center, the pressure begins to die down. You stop trying to be everything to everybody, because you already know whose you are.
