Psalm 95:6-7 - "O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker. For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand."
In Psalm 95:6-7, we're urged to approach God with reverence and humility, acknowledging Him as our Creator. Genuine worship means shifting our focus from ourselves to God's attributes.
James Montgomery Boice explains, "Worship is being concerned with God and his attributes. It is knowing, acknowledging, and praising God for who he is. We cannot do that if all we are thinking about is ourselves.”
Amid today's self-centered culture, Boice's insight rings true. Our worship should celebrate God's greatness. True worship involves letting go of self-concern and turning our hearts towards the One who lovingly tends to us. Let's respond to this call, humbling ourselves before God, and finding fulfillment in worship that centers on Him and Him alone.
