“The week-to-week diet of a local church should consist of the interpretation and application of one passage of scripture. It is better to go deeper into one text than to touch multiple verses superficially. Dig deeper wells!” —H.B. Charles Jr.

HB Charles Jr. wisely reminds us that depth surpasses breadth regarding our spiritual nourishment.

In Proverbs 2:3-5 we read, “Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.”

The riches of scripture lie not in skimming the surface but in diligently excavating its depths. Let’s embrace the call to dig deeper wells, savor the richness of God’s truth, and apply it fervently to our lives.
