Wednesday - Who Does Jesus Think He Is?
Luke 5:21 — “And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?”
The news of Jesus was not going unnoticed by the religious leaders. Jesus regularly taught and preached to huge crowds of people, and many were turning to Him instead of the temple. He was making waves among the scribes and Pharisees, who were the leading religious figures at the time and were constantly trying to trap Him.
Here, He professes to have forgiven a man of his sins! The scribes then asked, “Who does He think He is?!” This man has just admitted to doing something that only God can do. They were appalled by such a thing.
The question remains today: who does Jesus think He is? The claims of the Son of Man are audacious and bold…but true. Jesus is the Christ. He is the Son of God.
Who is He to you?
