Proverbs 3:5-6 -- "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean
not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and
he shall direct thy paths."
We all open the Bible with ideas about what God ought to say to us.
But Scripture keeps going deeper every time we read it. Matt Smethurst
said, "You will never be a good Bible reader if you've already decided
what God should say." Come to it humble and open. Let His Spirit light
up the words in ways you didn't expect. Trust His wisdom over your own
understanding, and He'll straighten out the path and change your heart
along the way.
