Story of David - Day 3

I Samuel 16:11-13 – "And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither. And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the Lord said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he. Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah."
In the unlikeliest of places and people, God's purpose unfolds. David, a humble shepherd boy, found himself anointed by Samuel as Israel's future king. God recognized in him a heart devoted to Him. This reminds us that God sees beyond appearances, valuing the potential within us.

Like David, we all have unique gifts and favor with God. Each of us has a specific purpose to fulfill, and we can achieve this by embracing our individual callings and trusting in the guidance of the Lord.

Just as David's story reveals, God often chooses the unexpected and the underestimated to accomplish His grand purposes. So, let’s have faith and embrace our God-given potential with open and surrendered hearts.
