Wednesday - The Fine Print of Your Priorities

Nehemiah 10:31 – And if the people of the land bring ware or any victuals on the sabbath day to sell, that we would not buy it of them on the sabbath, or on the holy day: and that we would leave the seventh year, and the exaction of every debt.

Yesterday's fine print was about relationships, who gets closest to your heart. Today it turns to your calendar and your bank account.

One verse, two promises, both expensive. They would not buy from the Sabbath sellers, even when it was convenient. Every seventh year, they would let the ground rest and let debts go, on purpose, knowing exactly what that would cost them.

Nobody makes promises like that about something they consider optional. What comes first in your life is never really what you say it is. It is what you actually choose when the calendar gets tight and the money gets tight at the same time.

They did not just say God came first. They wrote down what would come second because of it. What would have to move if God actually came first on your calendar this week?
