Monday - When the Road Gets Blocked

Acts 8:1 “And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.”

Progress is so encouraging. I love to see things going well for others and, of course, in my own life!

The church in Jerusalem was seeing much progress. Jesus Christ had instituted the church there, and Peter had preached on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2, and according to verse 31, 3,000 people were added to the church! How amazing! How incredible!

However, with this progress came a hindrance. Saul had stoned Stephen, and the world saw its first Christian martyr. This snowballed into a “great” persecution of the church in Jerusalem, causing many to flee for their lives.

For you and I, the fact of life is that our progress for the Lord will at some point be hindered. There WILL be a roadblock. The question is, what are you going to do about it?
Today, what might be hindering you? We all face hindrances, roadblocks, or obstacles…but what can we do about it? Today, let God be in charge when the road gets blocked.
