Wednesday - Truth Needs a Response
John 17:17 — “Sanctify them through thy truth; thy word is truth”
2 Timothy 2:15 — "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
I am not a navigations expert. I would say that I am “directionally challenged.” However, every once in a while I know where I am going. I can be absolutely confident…but be going the wrong way. If a friend had a map and told me to go the right way I would need to make a decision: keep going my own way, or follow the true direction.
You and I are faced with these types of scenarios more often than you think. I can feel one way and it not be true. When I am addressed with the truth, the correct response is change. The Word of God is ultimate truth. It isn’t just true, but it is truth! When we are confronted with biblical truth we need to respond.
Pastor Glen was confronted with biblical truth and needed to make a choice. Obey the Bible or continue in his tradition. Because the Bible says tradition cannot get you to heaven, he made a decision to follow God and the truth.
Today, what decision do you need to make because of truth. If you hear preaching every Sunday and read your bible daily I would hope you are challenged to respond to the Lord. Truth deserves a response…what is yours?
