Wednesday - Trusting God
Philippians 4:6— "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."
Proverbs 3:5–6 — "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
1 Peter 5:7 — "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."
"Supplication" means a specific request made out of a sense of need. When we bring our needs to God, we aren't telling Him anything He doesn't already know. Supplication says out loud that God alone can meet the need.
Supplication is a statement of trust. It is a declaration of dependence: Lord, I can't fix this, but You can, and I'm going to trust You with it.
Worry leans on our own understanding: our planning, our control, our worst-case scenarios. Supplication leans on God. And we can cast our care on Him for one simple reason: "he careth for you."
