I Samuel 16:7 – "But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart."
In our world, people often judge others by how they look on the outside. But God is different. When Samuel was trying to find a new king, he thought a tall and strong person named Eliab would be the right choice because he looked impressive. However, God told Samuel that looks can be deceiving.
What matters most to God is what's in our hearts.
So, in a world that often judges based on outward appearances, these verses encourage us to look beyond the surface and focus on cultivating a heart full of faith, love, and kindness, for that truly matters to the Lord.
