Story of David - Day 20

I Samuel 18:1-3 – “And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. And Saul took him that day, and would let him go no more home to his father's house. Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.”

The book of 1 Samuel tells the story of an inspiring friendship between Jonathan and David. Their bond was not just a casual acquaintance but a deep connection based on love, loyalty, and shared faith in God. True friendships are a precious gift from God because they go beyond superficial interactions.

We should be inspired to cultivate meaningful friendships in our own lives. True friends provide unwavering support, encouragement, and strength, just like Jonathan did for David. We should be grateful for the gift of genuine friendship and strive to be such friends to others.
