Story of David - Day 1

I Samuel 16:1 – "And the Lord said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons."

In moments of loss and disappointment, we often linger in mourning, unable to see the new beginnings God has in store. When Samuel grieved over Saul's rejection, God reminded him to embrace the future. God's plan unfolded with Jesse's son, David, who would become a great king.

Acts 13:22 - "And when he had removed him (Saul), he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will."

II Samuel 5:10 - "And David went on, and grew great, and the Lord God of hosts was with him."

This truth teaches us to trust God's providence, even in our darkest moments. As we release the past, we open ourselves to the unexpected blessings and purpose He has prepared for us. Let go of yesterday's sorrows, for God has already provided a path to a brighter tomorrow.
